A presentation of documents on mail art from the collection
Artexte at the Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul
We have prepared an exhibition of documents on mail art exploring the idea of mobility, the theme of the 34th edition of the Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul. The exhibition will be on view at the Symposium from July 29 to August 28, 2016.
Artists’ Networks is a presentation of documents from Artexte’s collection that examines the various artworks, ephemera and publications, resulting from artistic exchanges and collaborations from the 1960s until now. This exhibition focuses on the mail art movement, while examining the ways in which ideas can travel and manifest themselves in different ways through correspondence networks, which continue to inspire new ways of creating and thinking about art.
Our librarians, Jessica Hébert and Hélène Brousseau will lead a discussion on the life cycle of archives drawn from art projects on Sunday July 31 at 3 PM.
