Over 80% of the acquisitions stem from donations from artists, authors, editors, artist-run centers and museums from local, national and international art communities. The donations complement the research conducted by the Artexte team and guest researchers.
There are many ways to contribute to the collection.
Donating publications
The organisations, artists and editors who produce publications on contemporary art are invited to deposit a copy in our permanent collection and/or in the digital collection. These acquisitions are made available to researchers through the database and digital collection on e-artexte.
Suggestions to the collection
In order to enhance the collection and to respond to the research interests and needs in contemporary art, we accept suggestions of documents or publications from the public.
Artexte accepts and solicits much-needed financial donations throughout the year.
Taking care of our collection requires many librarian hours, research time and conservation materials. The generosity of our financial donors is necessary for us to continue our operations.
Making a donation is easy, you can contribute through PayPal, Canadon, by cheque or on site. Charitable receipts are emitted for donations over 25$.

Artexte recognizes the major role of its partners in the development of the uniqueness of its collection.
Artexte would not be able to conserve the collection with such efficacy or to offer such rich programs without the constant and generous help of its volunteers. In return for their important contributions to Artexte, volunteers have the unique opportunity to work alongside and learn from professionals of contemporary art, library sciences and museology.
