Jon Knowles and Vincent Bonin re-examine two conceptual artworks from the 1970s, Magazine Piece (1970–) by Vancouver-based artist Ian Wallace and Journal Series (1977–) by Los Angeles artist John Knight. Although both works are separated in time by a hiatus that corresponds to the postmodern turn, they make use of similar strategies. The texts address the works’ latest instantiation in the window of an abandoned shop on Saint-Laurent Boulevard that was rented for the occasion (May 2010).
