Historians, anthropologists, artists, writers, art critics, and activists contribute 32 texts to this anthology examining the ways in which AIDS issues have been conveyed. The authors situate AIDS within an historical context, explore the artistic community’s reaction to the crisis, analyze its representation in the media, and discuss safe sex and gay porn. Literature and theatre are presented as forums for expression and education.
