Artexte is committed to providing an inclusive environment. We work to promote accessibility to provide equitable access to our library collection, research, and programming activities.
Accessibility of our Site
Our site is partially accessible to people living with disabilities. The main entrance has double doors with an automatic button. Our spaces, located on the 3rd floor, are accessible by elevator and have wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, though the door is not automatic and may require assistance. Artexte’s public spaces include a reading room with a mobile shelf collection and an exhibition room. Service animals are welcome.
Accessibility of our Services
Artexte is a free public space open to all. Artexte’s print collection is available on-site and open to the public without appointment from Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 5:00 pm. Staff members are available to assist with research as needed.
The collection catalogue is available online at e-artexte.ca. Over 2,000 digital publications are available in open access. We offer a digitization service for researchers who are unable to come on-site to consult print materials. The details of our digitization service are available on our website.
We offer guided tours of our collection and exhibitions for groups and individuals, by appointment. Contact us in advance to book interpretation services in ASL or LSQ.
We are always trying to improve the accessibility of our services. Please feel free to send us your suggestions, to let us know if you have needs that are not being met, or to share resources to make our services more accessible.
