10 Years of Underground Queer Visual Culture in Montreal
August 16 from 6 to 8 PM
Guided tour on August 16 from 6 to 8 PM.
Poster exhibition from August 16 to August 30, Wednesday to Friday from noon to 5 PM
Join Montreal artist Jamie Ross for a guided tour of a selection of radical queer summer posters from Montreal from the last 10 years (English and French). Pervers/cité festival’s well-known yearly maximalist collage poster “poster legends” will serve as a way to examine the notion of local hero(s) with tongue firmly in cheek. Come for a sip of tea and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the radical queer summer festival.
Pervers/Cité is a collaboratively organized radical queer summer festival taking place August 11-20th 2017. Since 2007 Pervers/Cité has been organizing a blend of hot dance parties, critical political interventions and alternative art practices to build links across social justice movements and queer communities. In a climate of corporate gay agendas and whitewashed homogeneity, Pervers/Cité strives to provide a schedule of activities to reanimate the radical underpinnings to the pride movement.
