Re-opening to the public

Collection + Exhibition

September 8 + 23, 2021

We are pleased to announce the complete re-opening of Artexte. We have been so happy to welcome you back to the collection for consultation and research for a few weeks now, and as of Thursday, September 23, we will be reopening our exhibition space as well. Discover Blackity, Artexte’s new exhibition curated by Joana Joachim which delineates the trajectory of contemporary Black Canadian art as witnessed by Artexte’s collection between the 1970s and the 2010s.

To provide a safe experience, we have put in place health and safety protocols unique to the collection and exhibition space of Artexte

Collection and reading room – Our capacity is limited to five researchers at a time, each with their own dedicated workspace. We invite you to plan your visit to Artexte’s collection by reserving a space and a time slot (one time slot = one hour, five slots maximum per researcher). We’ll be happy to schedule a workspace for you in our reading room.

Before your visit, we ask you to read our collection’s health and safety protocol and respect it during your visit.

Exhibition space – Our capacity is limited to three visitors at a time. We invite you to plan your visit to the exhibition by reserving your time slot (one time slot = one hour, one slot maximum per visitor). We’ll be pleased to ensure an appointment for you to visit the exhibition.

Prior to your visit, we ask you to read our exhibition space’s health and safety protocol and to respect it during your visit.

Important information:

Masks must be worn at all times. In addition, Artexte requires that researchers and visitors who have symptoms that may be related to COVID-19 cancel their visit. Researchers and visitors are asked to wait until their symptoms have resolved, or until they have received a negative COVID-19 test result, before resuming an appointment at Artexte. This same constraint applies to Artexte staff, who may be required to cancel an appointment with a researcher or visitor if they have symptoms related to COVID-19.
